Correlation between Central Obesity and Liver Function in Young Adults—A Cross-Sectional Study

Abstract: Background Visceral fat is a more accurate predictor of metabolic and cardiovascular disease risk than body alone. Although the liver function associated with waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) in studies, this correlation not well established young central obese individuals. In study, we examined between parameters obesity subjects. Methods Subjects among student staff community 18 40 years were recruited for study after their written informed consent. Male subjects whose WHR above 0.90 females 0.85 included. The was assessed by estimating alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate (AST), albumin, globulin, albumin:globulin (A:G ratio), total bilirubin, direct Gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT). data analyzed using Pearson to find statistical significance lung centrally individuals SPSS version-16. A p-value less 0.05 considered level significance. Results results showed an insignificant (p > 0.05) except serum albumin < 0.021).
